We’re only two episodes in, and this is shaping up to be (in our best Chris Harrison voice) the most dramatic season in Bachelorette history. But not for the good reasons that make for TV we want to get wine drunk to and watch every Monday night. No, this season of The Bachelorette is completely off the chain because the producers let a bunch of real douche-nozzles onto the show.

First, there was contestant Bryce Powers, who posted a transphobic comment on his survey on ABC.com, which has since been deleted with a notably half-assed apology from the network. Then, there was DeMario Jackson, who was unceremoniously cut from this week’s episode when the girlfriend he ghosted to go on the show appeared at a group date to tell Rachel Lindsay about his two-timing ways.

Now, there’s yet another contestant who isn’t even close to worthy of the beautiful, intelligent Lindsay. Singer-songwriter Lee Garrett has set his social media accounts to private, but not before the internet grabbed screenshots of some seriously misogynistic and racist things he posted in the last couple of years.

Among Garrett’s tweets: “Guys… When is the last time YOU actually saw a pretty feminist? There is a reason for this,” and “What’s the difference between the NAACP and the KKK? Wait for it…… One has the sense of shame to cover their racist ass faces.”

Yeah. He actually wrote that.

So did ABC vet any of these guys at all? Or was it just not worth their time this season?
