For once, there’s a rumor of some drama at HGTV that appears to be nothing.

HGTV has had some crazy shit going down behind the scenes lately, but a budding feud between the Property Brothers‘ Drew and Jonathan Scott and Fixer Upper‘s Chip and Joanna Gaines doesn’t appear to be on that list, despite rumors saying the stars of the two shows are not fond of each other.
The rumors seem to have started with a New York Times interview with the Property Brothers in which they revealed that they had invited the Gaineses to guest star on an episode of their spinoff show, Brother vs. Brother… and the Gaineses turned them down.
Apparently, though, there was an innocent reason behind the apparent snub — the Scott brothers say there are no hard feelings at all.

“We’re one big family, which is why we love bringing [fellow HGTV stars] in to judge us,” Drew told Fox News of bringing other HGTV stars onto Brother vs. Brother. “We know a lot of the [HGTV] talent really well. Our show started airing in 2011 and over that time we’ve met [Chip and Joanna] once or twice. They were really nice.”
It could be that the Gaineses were just busy. After all, they have plenty of their own going on, like Chip’s book that was just announced. The Scott brothers are successful in their own right too, and there’s no rivalry, according to Drew.
“No, we’re not jealous of them,” he explained. “They are phenomenally successful, and the audience loves them and our fans have been asking for us to do something together.”
