After experiencing the thrill of Wonder Woman, we’re left on a kickass lady high, thirsty for more. Luckily, there are seven more female-centric films coming our way with characters who are just as bold, powerful and sharp-witted as the Amazon princess herself.
1. The Mummy
For the first time in the history of The Mummy franchise, the lead mummified corpse is female. Played by Sofia Boutella, she’s wrapped in rags and ready to unleash frightening supernatural powers that have the potential to destroy the earth. The Mummy opened June 9.

2. The Bad Batch
This movie will shock and disturb you, but it makes a poignant metaphor for the current threat to women’s health and reproductive rights in the United States. The film is set in a dystopian wasteland where a young woman, Arlen (Suki Waterhouse), is kidnapped by cannibals. Somehow she manages to escape — with two fewer body parts — and meets a mysterious man (Jason Momoa), who may be able to love her. Or eat her. Though Arlen doesn’t have superpowers, she qualifies as a major badass. The Bad Batch opens June 23.
3. Atomic Blonde
Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) is an undercover MI6 agent who gets sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent. This tough bitch uses her wits, sex appeal and cold-blooded killing ability to get what she wants — and she wants it all. Atomic Blonde opens July 28.
4. Patti Cake$
Patricia Dombrowski (Danielle Macdonald) may not look like your average aspiring rapper, but her will and determination make her formidable. Taking the stage name Patti Cake$, she will stop at nothing to get the glory and fame she’s dreamed of her entire life. Patti Cake$ opens August 18.

5. Tomb Raider
Angelina Jolie hands the climbing ax to Alicia Vikander to reboot the franchise. Lara is 21, living in London and trying to make ends meet seven years after her father’s mysterious disappearance. Determined to find out what happened to her father, she travels to a fabled tomb on a mythical island where she will search for any clues about his fate. Tomb Raider opens March 16, 2018.
6. X-Men: Dark Phoenix
While no official plot has been released to the public, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and the Phoenix Force return and are rumored to be heading to outer space. If Turner is half as rough-and-tumble as she is on Game of Thrones, Dark Phoenix promises to be a real audacious treat. X-Men: Dark Phoenix opens Nov. 2, 2018.
7. Mulan

This live-action feature film based on Disney’s Mulan from 1998 is about a young Chinese woman who disguises herself as a battle-ready male warrior in order to save her father’s life. No word yet on casting, but we do know that Mulan opens Nov. 2, 2018 — 20 years after the animated version was released.
