George and Amal Clooney have their hands full right now as the parents of newborn twins. But that isn’t stopping them from getting shit done. George is reportedly taking a mini-break from his acting career and joining Amal on her mission to save the world. This week, that means changing the lives of thousands of child refugees from Syria.

Through their charitable foundation, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, the power couple is partnering up with Google, HP and UNICEF to make sure refugee children in Lebanon have access to education, even as their families are displaced from their home countries. They’ll work with seven public schools in Lebanon, and their efforts will likely affect around 3,000 children displaced from Syria.

In a statement, the Clooneys said they planned to commit more than $2 million through their foundation toward schooling for the children they say they want to keep from becoming “a lost generation.”
“They have been victims of geography and circumstance, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope,” the statement read. “Our goal with this initiative is to help provide Syrian refugee children with an education and put them on a path to be the future leaders their generation desperately needs.”

Amal, who was born in Lebanon, has worked as a human rights lawyer for decades, fighting a number of fights to give voices to those who need them around the world. She’s worked extensively to better circumstances for refugees of world violence. Basically, there’s no one better to take on this cause than the Clooneys.
