Patrick & Jillian Dempsey Celebrate 18 Years of Marriage

It looks like it’s a pretty safe bet that Patrick and Jillian Dempsey have moved past their rough patch.

Jillian, who met Patrick back when she was his hairstylist at a Los Angeles salon in 1994, filed for divorce from the Grey’s Anatomy star in January of 2015.

But she then made no effort to move the divorce forward, and her filing was eventually thrown out by a judge for inactivity. That happened months after Jillian and Patrick appeared to have reconciled — they were photographed together looking decidedly couply in public on more than a few occasions.

This week, they celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, and Jillian posted a sappy Instagram post that should lay to rest any suspicions that they haven’t completely worked through whatever issues caused her to file for divorce.

“Happy 18th anniversary @patrickdempsey!” she wrote alongside a photo of Patrick kissing her on the cheek on a beach with the water behind them. “Through thick and thin… I love you.”

She signed the message, “~wifey,” in case anyone had any lingering doubt about their relationship, though by now, that should all be taken care of.

Even right after Jillian filed for divorce, it was unclear whether their relationship was actually coming to an end. At the time, sources close to the couple said there was “still a lot of love between them” and claimed Patrick had taken full responsibility for their troubles. He “was going through a bit of a midlife crisis. But he’s snapping out of it,” one source told Us Weekly.

And last year, when Patrick confirmed that he and Jillian were officially back together, he hinted at the responsibility he was taking, saying, “You have to work at everything. And you cannot do everything. Something has to be sacrificed.”
