Nikki Reed & Ian Somerhalder Give First Baby a Very Enlightened Name

One of the cutest and most good-looking couples in Hollywood just introduced the world to their new baby daughter. Nikki Reed and her husband, Ian Somerhalder, announced the birth of their daughter on their respective Instagrams, and according to E! News, they’ve given her the cutest name.

The Twilight actress and Vampire Diaries actor named their first child Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder. Very unique. The name “Bodhi” is a Sanskrit name that translates to “enlightenment” or “awakening” and has deep roots in Buddhism. And Soleil, translated from French, means “sun.” All together: Enlightening Sun. Absolutely beautiful.

The vampire-actor parents and strong activist couple shared their excitement on Instagram with some beautiful words. Somerhalder wrote, “To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth I’ve never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this. I can’t think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first. This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast…because that’s what they do, they grow so fast. Thank you for your kind energy.”

And just last week, Reed released a video of her listening to music with her baby while in the studio for her upcoming album. She wrote, “Last day before mixing begins. Writing and recording this entire album with this baby in my belly has been the most beautiful experience. One thing I know for sure, this child is going to love music :)”
