The time is nearly upon us: the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale looms, and there’s nothing but war on the minds of our favorite citizens of Westeros. In the newly released GoT Season 7 finale photos, we can see that the tension is rising between the Lannisters and the newly formed opposition, led by Daenerys Targaryen. While we know that the impending war against the White Walkers is postponed for the minute, what we don’t know is how things will turn out as the humans attempt to either settle their differences or engage in all-out war for the Iron Throne.

It looks like once again, Bronn and Jaime have to watch as an army rolls in on their turf. This time around, the massive army looks like it could compete somewhat with the Lannisters’ forces — if push comes to shove. Daenerys has spent years gathering men together, so if anything, we can tell that if and when a war breaks out, the fight will be pretty evenly matched.

Yes, that’s right, guys. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Cersei and Jaime sit together in a very odd way, perhaps because their relationship is a loaded one. As Hand of the Queen, it’s right that Jaime would be at Cersei’s side, but he’s also sitting by her too, making it look as if he’s king or her equal. This is only made creepier by the fact that it’s her brother and it’s clearly signaling to viewers that Cersei doesn’t care about how her actions are perceived (like putting her brother, who is also her lover, in a power position); she just wants to stay on top by any means necessary.
It looks like sides are clearly being taken too, as Jon Snow and Tyrion clearly team up and appear to be looking at Cersei and Jaime. There’s no going back now; are they on the winning side?
What’s interesting to note is that Daenerys is notably absent from these photos. It looks like Jon Snow and Tyrion may have been sent on her behalf, but if so, why wouldn’t she choose to meet the woman she is battling for the Iron Throne? After the power trip she’s been on in Season 7, to see that Daenerys might not show up for arguably the most important moment in her journey to reclaim the Iron Throne is disheartening. Something feels off here.

And finally, we have two very telling stills of GoT heroines who are living with their newfound power. Cersei looks calm and also content, implying that this photo is from a scene that happens before her meeting with Jon Snow and Tyrion. She’s way too comfortable here and it looks like she thinks she has the upper hand in some way.
Additionally, Sansa looks deeply tortured. It would seem that the current state of her relationship with Arya is weighing on her. Could she also now be reconsidering her relationship with Littlefinger?
There’s a lot of drama in these photos, so you can only imagine how intense things are going to be for the epic 90-minute Season 7 finale. Are you ready?
