It’s been a big week for fans of The Walking Dead. Not only did Director Greg Nicotero reveal how the Season 8 premiere opens, but it was also announced on Tuesday that TWD is getting the Pokémon Go treatment. Move over, Pikachu! We’ve got walkers to catch.

A collaboration between Next Games and AMC (the network that brings us TWD) the location-based augmented-reality game will be called The Walking Dead: Our World and give fans the opportunity to smash some undead skulls in the vein of Rick Grimes and company.
Don’t worry; everyone’s favorite zombocalyptic heroes will be on hand too. Like Pokémon-Go, the TWD game will feature overlays of its characters. In this case, that means Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carl and more may pop up in run-of-the-mill locations like the local corner store.

Seriously, guys, if the teaser trailer doesn’t get you hyped, what kind of fan are you even?
In the official joint announcement for the game, the companies said, “Fight walkers on the streets, in the park, on your sofa, wherever and whenever you want.”
Hmm, that makes it sound like you won’t have to hoof it quite as much as the game’s Pokémon-themed predecessor requires, doesn’t it? Either way, we’ll have to wait a hot minute to find out — the only release information on Our World thus far is that it is “coming soon” to iOS and Android devices.

And while the hope is that the action-packed augmented reality game will drop before TWD‘s return on Oct. 22, it would admittedly be fun to feel like you’re fighting walkers alongside Rick and the gang throughout Season 8.
