Maksim Chmerkovskiy Puts All Feud Rumors to Rest With One Sweet Letter

So much for the feud rumors between Dancing with the Stars‘ Maks Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey. The pair made headlines when Chmerkovskiy sat out a performance due to a “personal issue” that many assumed was a feud with Lachey. But they’ve since taken the stage together once again, and if Chmerkovskiy’s Instagram is any indication, they’re mending fences.

“Everything I ever want for my partners is literally what @vanessalachey has brought to the dance floor last night. Raw, unapologetic, real emotion expressed through a beautiful dance,” Chmerkovskiy wrote in a sweet open letter penned for his partner on Instagram.

He continued, “I’m proud of you partner! They can say what they want but you’re a star and I wouldn’t want to be on this rollercoaster with anyone but you! And we have so many more of these moments to share with each other, and everyone else who couldn’t stop their tears…#teamBabiesAndBallroom #DWTS #NeverADullMoment.”

Though the letter was a sweet sentiment, it doesn’t mean the feud never existed. One insider told Us Weekly that Chmerkovskiy and Lachey are just gritting their teeth and getting through each week, despite their personal issues.

“They’re playing nice for the cameras but both are miserable paired with each other,” the source said.

Another source said Chmerkovskiy has taken responsibility for the friction and apologized, allowing them to move on.

“Things are good. It’s water under the bridge,” that second source explained.

If these two really are having so much trouble getting along, they aren’t showing it on the dance floor. Their last dance earned a 24 out of 30, which goes to show that when it’s time to put on a good show, they can deliver.
