Swift announced the exciting news to fans on Tuesday in a video shared on YouTube. According to The Verge, the app comes by way of a partnership with Glu.

While that may not immediately ring any bells, you’re likely more familiar with it than you realize. The company is responsible for the cash-grab mobile games of other celebrities, including Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj and even Swift’s known adversary, Kim Kardashian West.

The app is described in the promo as a “creative, inclusive and community-driven place for users to better connect with each other… and Taylor!” Glu’s CEO Nick Earl called it “a new digital entertainment project” and “deeply social environment,” per The Verge.

The teaser video also promises subscribers exclusive content and the chance to engage with T-Swift herself, saying, “Taylor can see, like, and comment on posts!” Because this is Swift’s world and we’re all just living in it, she has her own set of emoji called “Taymojis.”

The news should come as a pleasant surprise to fans, who weren’t shy about vocalizing how much they missed Swift during her extended absence from the public and social media spheres over the last year.

The only catch? Everyone will have to wait a little bit longer to dive headfirst into The Swift Life — the app isn’t slated for launch until later this year.
