Life is looking up for fans ofThe Walking Dead universe. Not only is Season 8 rapidly approaching, but producers also recently confirmed there will be a crossover with AMC‘s prequel series, Fear the Walking Dead. And now? Well, if the rumors are true, a beloved TWD fan favorite may be coming back to life.

Don’t worry — we’re not talking about reanimating in the walker way. Rather, rumor has it that the character who will be featured on the FTWD crossover will be none other than one of TWD‘s dearly departed stars. Of course, that doesn’t exactly narrow it down. Fans of the franchise have lost many favorite characters over the years.
So who could be getting their second coming? Get ready for the return of the best one-liners on TV, because it looks like we may be seeing Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) in the near future.

Naturally, AMC and TWD‘s showrunners are keeping any substantial information about the crossover close to the vest. At New York Comic Con, creator Robert Kirkman did offer a hint, though, saying, “There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name. Now, what does that mean? Because the timelines, like… how does that work? Are we going to see an interesting backstory of The Walking Dead character in Fear the Walking Dead? Or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead and show a future version of the character?”
The former, apparently — here’s what we know.
Right after that Comic Con panel, Cudlitz tweeted, “Crazy shit is about to go down. See y’all on the other side.” Coincidence? Possibly. But, I mean, c’mon. See y’all on the other side?!

Then during this weekend’s FTWD Season 3 finale, it was revealed our survivors would be heading to Houston, Texas. Fans of TWD quickly connected the dots to Abraham, whose backstory involved a grocery store in Houston.
@AMCTalkingDead Did I hear Proctor John mention to Alicia something about going to Houston? Doesn't Abraham start off his journey in Houston? #WorldsCollide#FearTWD#TWD

#WhereIsOfelia … clearly she has made her way up to Texas and has met up with Abraham, Rosita and Eugene #FearTWD#TWDcrossover

Beginning to sound more and more like Abraham is going to be the crossover character. Thoughts? #TWD#FearTWD#TheWalkingDead

My guess is Abraham will help Alicia survive on #FTWD somehow then Alicia will crossover as Alpha on #TWD & kill Rosita blowing our minds!

Fans are understandably excited given that the loss of Abraham to the barbed wire-covered end of Negan’s baseball bat felt far too soon — let’s just say it left a giant ‘stache-shaped hole in our hearts. So, yeah, bring on Big Red.
