You know how Game of Thrones supercouple Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are engaged now, years after their respective fictional GoT characters, Jon Snow and Ygritte, had an on-screen romance? And also how they’re pretty much the perfect couple, on screen and off, and we just want to be their best friends and invite them to dinner parties and things?

Well, now we have solid proof that the impulse to be their best friend isn’t unfounded. Apparently, Harington and Leslie once went to a Halloween party together. Harington told Heat magazine all about the party, which had the theme of “bad taste.” It sounds like a theme that could very easily elicit cultural insensitivity and other Halloween no-nos, but Harington and Leslie are better than that, obviously. No, instead, Harington went dressed as his own GoT character, Jon Snow, but not because he wanted to — he did it because Leslie made him.
“She pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose just whispered in my ear, ‘I won’t love you if you don’t wear it,'” Harington remembered.

He added, “It was really embarrassing. The people bringing around canapes were looking at me, thinking, ‘You’re sad man! You’ve come to a party dressed as your character.'”
Believe it or not, this story gets even better. Harington didn’t even grab his costume from on set — instead, he wore one of those cheesy Jon Snow costumes that comes in a plastic bag from Amazon or the mall. Could he have done a better job of nailing that theme?
