Peter Kraus is opening up about why he isn’t handing out roses for Season 23 of The Bachelor and, shocker, it’s because he “was not ready.”
Called it!

As soon as news hit that Kraus was joining Bachelor Winter Games, it became pretty obvious the show was still interested in grooming him for the top-dog position. They just couldn’t very well have him pull a 180 after he told Rachel Lindsay he wasn’t ready to give her a ring.
“It all just ended so fast,” Kraus told Us Weekly of his breakup with Lindsay. “It was just me, sitting there by myself in my own thoughts. That was a really dark couple of days. When you have no outlets, it’s hard to get out of your head.”

Now he’s got a whole other season to convince us that he’s ready to fall in love and pop the question, all in the span of eight weeks.
All sarcasm aside, I still would truly love to see him as the Bachelor, and not just for the fact that he’s fun to look at. He also seems to be a genuine guy, as his new interview with Us Weekly would suggest.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had a commitment issue,” Kraus said of the rumors that plagued him after he and Lindsay ended things on the show. “It was unfortunate that people took it that way. I’m ready for a lifelong love. It just wasn’t enough time for me. It wasn’t what I needed for myself.”

As for his thoughts on future Bachelor possibilities? “If it were to come up again, I would definitely consider it.”
And hope lives on, Bachelor fans!
