Whether you’re a football fan or not, you’ve got at least one good reason to tune into the 2018 Super Bowl — Justin Timberlake just announced he’ll be performing at the halftime show.

The singer made the news Twitter official on Sunday, posting a funny video with his buddy Jimmy Fallon to give the scoop. “I DO have the time. Half the time…#PepsiHalftime #SBLII @Pepsi @NFL @JimmyFallon @FallonTonight,” Timberlake tweeted.

Of course, the last time Timberlake headlined the halftime show at the Super Bowl was in 2004 when the now-infamous Nipplegate incident with Janet Jackson occurred. The moment took place during Timberlake’s performance of “Rock Your Body,” when he snatched a piece of Jackson’s bustier off at the line “I’m gonna have you naked by the end of this song.”
Jackson’s breast became exposed to millions of viewers, and both artists found themselves in serious hot water. The Federal Communications Commission implemented a five-second broadcast delay during live performances after Timberlake’s 2004 Super Bowl gaffe.

But, hey, it’s been 13 years. Timberlake has undoubtedly learned many lessons during that time. Now a husband and father, he tends to steer clear of controversy it would seem. Plus, he has an impressive body of work to choose from for his performance — Timberlake is a 10-time Grammy winner.
As if all of this weren’t enough to get you stoked about the Super Bowl, Us Weekly is citing an inside source who claims the “Sexy Back” singer’s pal and fellow performer, Jay-Z may be making an appearance.

For the time being, though, the source says, “as of right now, it will just be Justin — no surprise performers.”
Super Bowl LII is set to air on NBC on Feb. 4, 2018.
