Is Sophie Turner’s New Movie Character Even Stronger Than Sansa Stark?

Sophie Turner’s character in Game of Thrones(Sansa Stark, for those of you not in the know) is definitely a strong woman who has matured into one of the most beloved characters on the show.

But Turner’s next role might even put Sansa’s strength to shame, and that’s saying something.

In the film, aptly titled The Girl Who Fell From the Sky, Turner will play a character based on a real-life girl named Juliane Koepcke, who was the lone survivor of the 1971 crash of LANSA Flight 508. Koepcke was ejected from the plane after it was struck by lightning. She fell 10,000 feet, roughly 2 miles, before the canopy of the rain forest broke her fall. (Yes, this really happened.) Not only did Koepcke survive the crash, she then survived for 11 days in the Peruvian rain forest before being rescued. (Again, true story here.)

Turner is set to produce as well as star in the film, and the script has reportedly already been written.

Turner shared her excitement about the project on Twitter.

It’s been a good month for Turner. Not only is she filming the final season of Game of Thrones, but she also got engaged to her beau, Joe Jonas.
