“On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,” the statement read. “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall.”

Underwood also did her part to assure fans that she was OK, tweeting to thank them for their support and to give her husband a shoutout.

“Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody,” she wrote. “I’ll be alright…might just take some time…glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”

There were no details immediately available about how the fall happened or what other injuries Underwood has other than the cuts and abrasions mentioned by her rep. Overall, it sounds like a terrible experience, and a scary one because it could have happened to any of us. We’re really glad she’s relatively OK.

According to The Tennessean, this means Underwood won’t be able to perform at Sunday’s Country Rising concert to benefit the victims of recent hurricanes and the shooting in Las Vegas. She was set to perform alongside some of country’s biggest names, including George Strait, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Keith Urban. So far, that’s the only show we know of that’s being affected by her injuries. Knowing how tough Underwood is, we doubt this is going to keep her down for long.
