All five Spice Girls have reportedly signed on to participate in a TV special next year, and according to Harper’s Bazaar, they’re recording a compilation album to go along with it. Be still, my ’90s fangirl heart!

Mel C, aka Sporty Spice, is apparently the driving force behind this reunion. An insider close to her told The Sun that the whole reunion has been secretly planned, but it’s almost official enough for a public announcement.

“The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion,” the source said. “As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls. And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion. The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently.”

This isn’t the first time the Spice Girls have tried to get the old band back together. They were working on a reunion for the Spice Girls’ 20th anniversary last year, but reports say Mel C and Victoria Beckham refused to take part, so plans ultimately fell apart. The last time the Spice Girls did perform together was at the 2012 Olympics. Needless to say, they’re long overdue. Bring on 2018!
