Angelina Jolie’s Kids Made Another Red Carpet Appearance

Even though she doesn’t have Brad Pitt to be her date to red carpet events, Angelina Jolie isn’t sweating it because she may actually have the best dates ever: her kids. She’s been taking them in pairs and small groups to premieres and award shows for months, and on Friday, Dec. 15, she did it again.

Jolie was honored as the 2017 UNCA Global Citizen of the Year at Friday’s United Nations Correspondents Association Awards at restaurant Cipriani Wall Street, and she was accompanied to the event by four of her six kids: 14-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh and 9-year-old Knox.

Only two children in the Jolie-Pitt brood were left out of the evening’s fun:16-year-old Maddox and 9-year-old Vivienne. But according to a source who spoke to People magazine, there was a good reason for those two to miss the event. “Vivienne had an upset tummy and big brother Maddox stayed with her,” the insider said. Hopefully, Vivienne is feeling better by now, and also, can someone give Maddox props for looking after his sister? What a sweet brotherly move.

During her speech at the event, Jolie mentioned that she’s very proud of her children, who seem to be accompanying her more and more as she works as a humanitarian. Maddox actually has an executive producer credit on Jolie’s acclaimed film First They Killed My Father, which has shed light on recent genocide in Cambodia.

“However hard it is to live up to the ideals of the U.N. charter and however distant we are from their realization, we have a responsibility not to break faith and to hold together when people want to divide us,” Jolie said during her speech.
