It’s about time someone gave Rose McGowan a platform for her voice. She’s been one of the most vocal critics of Hollywood’s culture of sexual abuse and harassment, and she’s been leading the #MeToo movement since it gained traction in the aftermath of the flood of allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

McGowan just announced that she’s taking a leaf out of Leah Remini‘s book and hosting her own docuseries to help take down the darker institutions of Hollywood, just like Remini has been doing with Scientology. Citizen Rose will be a five-part series that’s set to premiere on E! later this month.
“You are formally invited into my mind and world,” McGowan said in a statement. “I am thrilled to partner with E! to amplify my message of bravery, art, joy and survival. As I ready my book, Brave, I realized I wanted to show how we can heal through art even when being hounded by evil.”

She continued, “I want to have a conversation with everyone, and most especially, you, about looking at things differently and seeing beauty everywhere. E!’s tremendous reach and impressive platform allow me to globally communicate the importance of living a brave life.”
McGowan was one of the first and most outspoken women to come forward about Weinstein’s decades of predatory behavior. She has accused the legendary producer of raping her, which he denies. Over 50 other women have accused Weinstein of similar behavior, from harassment to outright sexual assault, and several others have accused him of rape.

McGowan absolutely deserves this platform, and we’re sure many women will agree and tune in. We can’t wait to see how she uses it to further dismantle to power structures that have silenced women for so long.
