Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx seem to be a pretty effective couple. They keep their relationship far more private than the average pair of A-list stars, but the small snapshots we get of them together seem really happy — romantic dinner dates and sweet walks, hand-in-hand, on the beach.

As close as they may be, however, there’s one thing that will always take precedence over their relationship as far as Holmes is concerned: her family.
“She’s an amazing mom,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She’ll choose her family over him any day.”
Those comments come on the heels of the New Year’s holiday, which Foxx and Holmes spent noticeably apart from one another. Foxx was in Singapore, spinning at a nightclub opening, while Holmes took her 11-year-old daughter, Suri, on a ski trip to Park City, Utah.

Still, don’t think that their decision to spend the holiday across the world from one another has any bearing on Foxx and Holmes’ relationship. Insiders say they’re just as strong as ever, if not stronger. They celebrated Foxx’s 50th birthday together just a few weeks ago, and sources say “they were all over each other” on the dance floor.
“Katie was really letting loose and dancing — they were even kissing each other!” one insider shared. That’s pretty big for these two, who typically try to act like they’re anything but a couple.
“They’re starting to be more comfortable about their relationship,” another source explained, adding, “They’ve definitely become more serious.”

That’s good news for us, because we’re huge fans of these two as a couple. Now, hopefully, 2018 will be full of FoxxHolmes PDA.
