Corey Feldman Has Been Cleared of Sexual Battery Accusations

Updated Feb. 6, 2018, 7:20 a.m. PT: Corey Feldman has reportedly been cleared of the sexual battery charges that were made against him. His attorney, Perry Wander, provided a statement to E! News, saying, “After a comprehensive investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office rejected the filing of a criminal complaint against my client Corey Feldman. The City Attorney’s office agreed with my assessment of the criminal case, and declined to file charges.”

Feldman himself has not commented at the time of reporting.

Original story, published Jan. 12, 2017: Normally, Corey Feldman is on a crusade to end sexual misconduct in Hollywood. The former child star has long been open about being sexually abused during his early days in the industry, and he has since been working hard to reveal what he says is the rampant sexual abuse of child actors. But this week, the tables have turned — Feldman has been accused of sexual battery.

Los Angeles police told E! News that a report was filed on Monday.

“A female victim filed a police report of sexual battery and named Corey Feldman as the suspect,” police said. “The incident occurred on February 4, 2017, at a business at the 600 block of South Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The robbery/homicide division is handling the investigation.”

TMZ says the woman claimed that Feldman “grabbed her ass.” Feldman is vehemently denying the claim and seems pretty heartbroken by it.

“Corey remains focused on his mission to fight the war of inappropriate behavior towards men and women of all ages,” his attorney said in a statement. “Given his own painful experiences, the last thing he would ever want to do is make anyone else feel the way that he did. He is confident that the motives behind these false accusations will be revealed and that the truth will prevail. He also thanks his fans for their continued love, support and belief in him.”
