Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, inspired women everywhere to use the love inside them to help save the world — in ways both big and small. Though we know Diana Prince is just a comic book character and there’s no such thing as an invisible jet, she’s still a powerful symbol for anyone who’s looking to find truth and justice in a world that can often feel frightening and unfair. Wonder Woman gives all of us hope.
Luckily, the sequel, Wonder Woman 2, is currently in the works and set to hit movie theaters Nov. 1, 2019. The bad news is we have to wait a year and a half to see this hero brandish her golden Lasso of Truth, but the good news is there are plenty of other movies coming out this year that also star powerful women. Here are the best female characters in movies to help inspire you until Wonder Woman is back.
