Matt Lauer has been laying low since he was fired from NBC in late November 2017 due to allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior at work. He’s been spotted with his kids in the Hamptons, which makes sense since he and his wife, Annette Roque, own a home there. But as whispers about an impending divorce grow louder and louder, it’s now reported Roque has kicked Lauer out of their New York estate.

Page Six was first to report that Lauer has allegedly been given the boot by Roque, who they say plans to officially file for divorce soon. However, reps for Lauer have refused to comment on whether he and Roque are actually separated, despite all the rumors they’re on the brink of a breakup.
This wouldn’t be the first time the couple of nearly 20 years hit a rough patch. Roque filed for divorce from Lauer in 2006 citing “mental abuse, extreme mental and emotional distress, humiliation, torment, and anxiety” as her reasons for wanting to end the marriage. According to reports, though, she withdrew her divorce petition a few weeks later, and she and Lauer have been together without any public issues ever since.
But Lauer and Roque wouldn’t be the first couple to fall apart after allegations of sexual assault and misconduct went public. For example, Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, left him very soon after dozens of women went public with their stories of his repeated abuse in October 2017 with divorce proceedings currently wrapping up. Considering what Lauer is accused of, it wouldn’t exactly be surprising for Roque to make the decision to leave him.

Page Six reports he’s staying in another home in the Hamptons so he can be near his kids. But until he comments on this (or Roque files for divorce), it may be a while before we know what’s actually going on with his marriage.
