John Stamos & Caitlin McHugh Didn’t Let a Robbery Ruin Their Wedding Day

A robbery couldn’t stand in the way of John Stamos‘ love for Caitlin McHugh — the happy couple tied the knot this weekend, mere hours after McHugh’s bungalow at the Beverly Hills hotel was broken into and burglarized.

To add insult to injury, the thieves made off with a sizable collection of jewelry that McHugh planned to wear down the aisle. The burgled baubles, on loan from the Neil Lane Collection, were worth around $165,000. So far, no suspects have been identified in the heist.

Still, Stamos and McHugh didn’t let the unfortunate experience ruin their big day. On Saturday, the couple said “I do” in front of a small crowd of 50 close friends and family. According to E! News, the ceremony was held at Little Brown Church in Studio City. Afterwards, they cruised in a classic Rolls Royce to a reception at Stamos’ Beverly Hills home.

In keeping with the day’s cozy vibe, the couple had lounge chairs and rugs splayed all over Stamos’ backyard to encourage guests to relax. White rose petals floated in the pool, near which a grand piano and drum set were set up.

The big day tips off what is certain to be a joy-filled year for Stamos and McHugh, who announced in December 2017 that they are expecting their first child. “Maybe we should have a kid [before we get married] and I said, ‘Why?'” Stamos told People of the pair’s decision to start a family, revealing that McHugh playfully responded, “Because you’re old.”

The couple enjoyed a short engagement, with Stamos having popped the question to McHugh during a dreamy Disneyland proposal in October 2017. The actor broke the news on Instagram, writing, “I asked…she said yes! …And we lived happily ever after.”
