Amy Schumer Got Married, & Basically Told No One (Except a Few Celebs)

Surprise! Amy Schumer is married! And here’s the kicker: She basically nailed the whole surprise celebrity wedding thing, because nobody knew this was happening except for the few people Schumer reportedly texted to invite to her last-minute nuptials.

The wedding reportedly took place on Feb. 13 at a rented beachfront home in Malibu. Several sources confirmed Schumer had tied the knot with her boyfriend of a few months, chef Chris Fischer, prompting her to post some wedding photos to Instagram with a caption reading simply, “Yup.”

So how did Schumer manage to keep this so quiet? Apparently, she just mass texted her friends a few days in advance, and since most of those friends were celebs like Schumer, they knew to respect her privacy.

“It was a very chill wedding. It was thrown together last minute,” a source told Us Weekly. “Most of the guests found out the wedding was happening on Tuesday from a text message sent out by Amy on Sunday. It was like, ‘Hey, this is happening. If you can make it, great. If not, no worries.’ People were in and out all night. It was a gorgeous day. Everyone was having a good time.”

Us Weekly reports that Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, Larry David, David Spade and Judd Apatow were some of the famous names in attendance and that Schumer had a strict no-photo policy to help keep the news from leaking.

Schumer also made sure to clarify this wasn’t a shotgun wedding (considering the wedding happened so quickly) and that folks could make a donation to the Everytown for Gun Safety group rather than send gifts.

Schumer and Fischer were first spotted on a romantic dinner date back in November, but they didn’t publicly confirm their relationship until last weekend when Schumer posted a photo of them kissing in the photo booth at Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday party.
