Many of us would like to believe we can keep calm and collected as we watch our loved ones get married, but who are we kidding? These moments are emotional as heck, y’all. And not even the unofficial Queen of Cool, Ms. Jennifer Lawrence, was able to maintain her chill when she watched her dear friend Amy Schumer get married to professional chef Chris Fischer earlier this week.

Lawrence recently talked to Entertainment Tonight about what it was like not only to get the surprise text message invite a mere 48 hours before the ceremony (say what?!) but also to attend the actual event. Hint: There were lots of happy tears.
“It was beautiful,” Lawrence recounted. “It was very sudden, but it was, I was sobbing the whole — his vows were stunning. It’s when two people really love each other and they really mean it, it shows, and it was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing time. I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Lawrence also talked about the reception, where she repurposed a stylish pink dress she wore to a recent event (way to recycle, sis) and danced like nobody was watching.
“Notice my shirt was accidentally undone the whole time,” she remarked. “In every wedding photo, all of my buttons were undone. It looks like I was like, ‘Oh, you thought this was going to be about you?'”

While Lawrence was busy being the sweet friend who happy-cries, Schumer was busy looking gorgeous and celebrating this special moment with all her loved ones. A few days after the surprise wedding, Schumer posted a couple of photo sets to her Instagram, chock full of shots from the nuptials. Not only was her family able to attend, but also celebrities like Jake Gyllenhaal, SNL‘s Aidy Bryant and good ol’ Lawrence were there to look on.

It kinda figures that Lawrence would be one of the most adorable and acceptably histrionic guests at Schumer’s wedding, but the fact that she showed up and supported her friend makes up for all the waterworks in a really sweet way.
