Céline Dion seems to be on the mend these days, and she’s showing off her fighting spirit on social media. The singer took to Instagram over the weekend to reach out to her fans, and it seems like she was in a super-happy mood when she did so because she was ready to give fans the most loving thanks for their support of her in recent months, and she was able to give them a little bit of a health update as well.
Dion’s been resting up after recently having to cancel additional show dates due to the health complications she’s faced in the early months of 2018. As Billboard reported in March, she’s been suffering from a middle-ear condition that causes hearing irregularities and would affect Dion’s ability to sing. At the time, Dion indicated she would hopefully be ready to return to work by May 22, when she has shows scheduled at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

On Sunday, Dion hopped on Instagram to post a bilingual thank-you note to her fans. “Dear friends, I want to thank all of you for the wonderful birthday messages and videos,” she wrote. “They touched me deeply. I celebrated this day surrounded by family, while feeling the spirit of your presence. Thank you for your love and support and for being such a big part of my life for all these years.”

The “celebration” Dion is referring to is her 50th birthday, which happened on Saturday, March 30. That’s right: Dion has officially been thrilling us for a good number of those 50 great years, and I’m sure many fans are ready to see what the next 50 have in store. Even though she didn’t post about it on social media, one might expect Dion had a fairly calm and quiet birthday celebration, choosing to celebrate with her family and close friends. Goodness knows she’s been through a lot in regard to balancing a hectic Las Vegas performance schedule with these various health issues, so she deserves to take some time for herself to celebrate a milestone birthday.
