Brad Pitt appears to have taken the plunge back into the dating pool. Us Weekly reports that Pitt is seeing MIT professor Neri Oxman, and while things are still in the early stages, there’s reason to think this could be a promising new relationship. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.
As mentioned, Oxman is an MIT professor — and a celebrated one at that. “Designer and architect Neri Oxman is leading the search for ways in which digital fabrication technologies can interact with the biological world,” reads the description of this clip from one of Oxman’s TED talks. “Working at the intersection of computational design, additive manufacturing, materials engineering and synthetic biology, her lab is pioneering a new age of symbiosis between microorganisms, our bodies, our products and even our buildings.”

According to People magazine, the Israeli-born designer and architect has held exhibitions of her work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Boston’s Museum of Science. Paola Antonelli, a senior curator at MoMA, described Oxman as “a person ahead of her time, not of her time,” and Oxman has the accolades to match. She received the Holcim Foundation Next Generation award in 2008, the Earth Award for Future-Crucial Design in 2009, the Carnegie “Pride of America” Award in 2014, the Vilcek Prize in Design in 2014 and the MIT Collier Medal in 2016, just to name a few.
As for how long she and Pitt have been seeing each other, rumors began swirling in the past week, though Oxman and Pitt have yet to confirm the relationship. Us Weekly claims that they began quietly dating sometime in late 2017; the outlet’s source (who is anonymous, of course) also says that Pitt has been spending a lot of time in Cambridge, Massachusetts (home to MIT), in recent months and may even have a key to Oxman’s place. “Brad has been spotted going into her apartment building on multiple occasions late at night and emerging the next morning after she leaves to teach,” claims the source. Ooh, Pitt, you saucy minx.
Us Weekly also claims that Pitt has accompanied Oxman on international business trips and that they are pretty enamored with one another. Another anonymous source who is reportedly close to the actor told E! News that he “thinks [Oxman] is brilliant.”

But, before we all get carried away, E!’s source went on to downplay the romance, saying, “Brad is interested in getting to know her more and learning from her, but they are strictly friends.”
We can’t help but root for Pitt to find love again — and if it’s with a woman as impressive and accomplished as Oxman, so much the better. Here’s hoping these two will make it official soon.
