9 Times Ryan Reynolds Trolled Blake Lively

Oh, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, we love you so much. There are many reasons, but the biggest is that you two have excellent repartee. This celebrity couple has emerged as one of the most chill, fun and non-superficial in the business, able to rib each other in interviews and on social media and always looking comfortable in each other’s presence. Six years of marriage and two daughters have Lively and Reynolds looking happier and more in love than ever.

But back to the repartee. We need to talk about the repartee. A better word for what these two do in public and on social media may be “trolling.” They’re not afraid to have some fun at the other’s expense. Before Lively deleted all her Instagram photos and unfollowed Reynolds as part of the promotion for her film A Simple Favor, she was able to deliver jokey burns about Reynolds just as well as he did about her.

However, there are still some great trolling comments about Lively hidden in Reynolds’ social media posts. Sure, there may be a great, temporary crack at the expense of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in the trailer for Deadpool 2, but these trolls? These will last forever.

1. A sick Rhythm Section burn

A photo of Lively on the set of her upcoming film The Rhythm Section, in a costume that made her look a little worse for wear, provided the perfect opportunity for Reynolds to burn Lively with a simple “#nofilter” caption.

2. When he joked about where he married Lively

For a photo celebrating the premiere of Lively’s film All I See Is You in 2017, Reynolds quipped, “ALL I SEE IS YOU opens today!!! I was so happy to see an advanced screening of this STUNNING film by Marc Forster! Also, I married my wife online, so it was nice to finally meet her in person.” (Don’t worry, Reynolds and Lively probably met at least once before their wedding in South Carolina in 2012.)

3. Discovering his second daughter exists

Sometimes, a casual tweet from Reynolds includes a hilarious trolling remark about the “simple joys” of family. In January, he wrote, “Nothing better than the simple joys of finding 5 bucks in an old pair of pants, or discovering my wife and I had a second daughter over a year ago.”

4. Putting the blame on Lively

When a fan of Reynolds demanded to know who was really writing sexy requests for him to complete, the Deadpool actor knew who to name. “Pretty sure it’s my wife writing most of those. Sounds like her,” he remarked.

5. A cheeky happy birthday message

It wouldn’t be a proper birthday without a sweet birthday message from your spouse, right? For Lively’s 30th, Reynolds wrote “Happy Birthday to my amazing wife” as the caption of a cute couples photo. If only we could put our finger on what’s wrong with the way he cropped it…

6. It’s all fun and games until you reveal your secret family

Reynolds knows about life as a married man and father and has some advice to give. “Being a father means responsibility. Not just for your main family, but also the secret one in Denmark nobody knows about,” he tweeted in June 2016.

7. A bad first-date joke

While helping Lively promote her 2016 summer thriller The Shallows, Reynolds posted a GIF from the movie and assured us this was the beginning of their love story: “Actual footage from the first date with my wife. Tried to surprise her and totally forgot I was a fucking shark.”

8. Why they’ll never break up

Rumors circulated in early 2018 that Reynolds and Lively were headed for splitsville. So, when Yahoo News tweeted out a photo of Reynolds, his mother and Lively at the premiere of A Quiet Place, Reynolds defused the rumors easily.

“We’re never splitting,” he wrote. “She’ll always be my mom. No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends.”

9. Joking about who gets the credit for giving birth

Reynolds couldn’t help but acknowledge the effort it took to welcome his and Lively’s second daughter into the world: “Being a Dad isn’t just about eating a huge bag of gummy-bears as your wife gives birth. It means being comfortable with the word hero.”

We’ll forever love Reynolds and Lively, and these trolling social media posts only reaffirm that. Stay golden, you two, and please don’t ever break up.
