These Goodbye Tributes to NCIS‘ Pauley Perrette Are Everything

Now that we know Abby Sciuto’s fate on NCIS, we can breathe just a little bit easier. Like her character Abby, the beloved forensic scientist on the CBS procedural for 15 seasons, Pauley Perrette is moving on peacefully. She’ll reportedly be focusing on philanthropy, but we’re still bummed we have to say goodbye regardless because she was such an integral part of NCIS. Perrette’s castmates also seem really bummed to say goodbye, but they chose to take look on the bright side when they took to their social media accounts this week to post loving tributes to their longtime NCIS costar.

Searching Perrette’s name on social media today brings up a deluge of cast tributes to her legacy, and the #GoodbyeAbby hashtag on Twitter is as heartbreaking as it is uplifting. Perrette warned fans to get the tissues ready ahead of her final episode on Tuesday, and honestly? She could have warned her fans to get the tissues ready before reading her retweets from the NCIS cast too.

Several of Perrette’s costars, including Wilmer Valderrama, suggested getting the tissues ready before the episode too.

Michael Weatherly opted to post a brief video to express his feelings, which are totally encapsulated in his long, sad sigh.

Costar Brian Dietzen kept it sweet and simple with a goodbye, a “love you,” and a sweet picture with Perrette.

Additionally, another one of NCIS‘ longest-running series regulars, Sean Murray, posted nearly the exact same message, and it really packed a sweet, sentimental punch right in the gut.

Actor Sasha Alexander, who played Special Agent Caitlin “Kate” Todd during the first two seasons of the show, shared a candid photo of herself and Perrette in formal wear on Twitter and shared a more heartfelt message on Instagram along with another candid photo.

Meanwhile, Duane Henry has been sharing lots of love for Perrette and Abby on Twitter, including a photo of an Abby pin and a genuinely heartbreaking photo edit along with a super-spoilery (you’ve been warned) caption.

We’re sad to say goodbye to Perrette, but as Abby told her coworkers, “You have to go with your gut, and my gut is telling me I have to go.” We’ll miss seeing Perrette every week on our screens, but we’re really excited to see what comes next.
