The Spice Girls Have Big Reunion Plans for This Weekend

Buckle up, Spice Girls fans! Amid swirling rumors that the girl-power pop group may be heading toward a reunion, Us Weekly confirms that at the very least, all five members will attend the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this Saturday — though sadly, they won’t be performing.

In February, Mel B said on The Real that she and the other Spice Girls would be in attendance at the wedding, even hinting that they might perform, according to Us. Mel C later shot down the performance rumor, but that’s OK. Just seeing these five together brings back all kinds of fond memories, and we’re excited to see them at the royal wedding.

Despite Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton sharing photos of the group on their separate Instagrams in February, there have been super-mixed signals about what’s happening in regard to a reunion. On May 8, Mel B told ITV’s Loose Women that she doesn’t want to say too much, per the Evening Standard: “We are in the works of figuring the stuff out… I don’t want to say too much. All five of us have signed with Simon Fuller. I can’t say exactly what and when but it’s all very exciting.”

NME recently reported a rumor that the band is set to release a tell-all documentary inspired by Liam Gallagher of Oasis, and Variety reports that an animated superhero movie starring the Spice Girls is being shopped to potential production companies. It’s no Spice World sequel, but it’ll do.

The Spice Girls are among about 600 people who received official invitations to Markle and Prince Harry’s nuptials, according to Us. The outlet reports that the wedding is set to take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England, with a celebratory reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II to follow at St. George’s Hall. A second private reception at Frogmore House hosted by Prince Charles will include about 200 of Markle and Prince Harry’s friends and family. The latter is where the couple posed for their official engagement portraits last winter.
