Everything We Know About Bachelor in Paradise Season 5 so Far

It’s official! Entertainment Weekly reports that Bachelor in Paradise season five is on track to premiere in August with (hopefully) significantly less scandal than last season and a lot more wild love connections and happily-ever-afters. With new episodes set to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 7, just one day after the finale of Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorettewe figured it would be best to let you in on everything we know so far about season five. There’s not too much yet (although we’re sure that will change as time goes on), but what we do know is pretty darn intriguing.

Becca’s ex-boyfriends are ready to find love, again

What do you do when you find yourself with a broken heart and very public break up? Head to paradise for some sun, fun and booze, of course.

It seems like a ton of Becca’s ex-boyfriends are making their way to paradise for season 5 (the memorable ones, at least). So far, ABC has announced that Colton Underwood, Wills Reid, Chris Randone, John Graham, Nick Spetsas, Jordan Kimball, David Ravitz, and Joe “the Grocer” Amabile are headed to Puerto Vallerta, aka, Bachelor’s rendition of the ultimate love shack.

Other former suitors headed to paradise include Tia Booth (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Eric Bigger (Rachel Lindsay’s season), Nysha Norris  (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Krystal Nielson (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Kevin Wendt (Bachelor: Winter Games), Kenny Lane (Rachel Lindsay’s season), Kendall Long (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Chelsea Roy (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Bibiana Julian (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season, Bachelor: Winter Games), Astrid Loch (Nick Viall’s season), Annaliese Puccini (Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season), Angela Amezcua (Nick Viall’s season), Yuki Kimura (Bachelor: Winter Games), Wells Adams (Jojo Fletcher’s season, Bachelor in Paradise), Ashley Iaconneti (Chris Soule’s season, Bachelor in Paradise), and Jared Haibon (Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, Bachelor in Paradise).

Some of the cast members are already in paradise

While filming season five in Mexico, season three contestant Jared Haibon proposed to Ashley Iaconetti after three years of friendship and just a few blissful weeks of public displays of affection. The two met during the 2015 season, and though it took them a while to really take a crack at romance, it’s clear they are head over heels for each other.

Haibon shared a photo of himself and Iaconetti kissing while he carried her honeymoon-style on the beach with the simple caption, “Love works in mysterious ways.” It’s a sweet callback to their relationship journey, which started when he friend-zoned her during his season of Bachelor in Paradise, then later fell in love with her after the two of them spent more time together as close friends.

In a photo posted to Iaconetti’s Instagram on Tuesday, two days after the proposal, she and Haibon cuddled up for the camera. Her caption reads, “This was taken the night before we became fiancés!”

People shared an exclusive photo of the moment Haibon dropped to one knee on the beach, which is super-sweet. We can feel Iaconetti’s happiness radiating from that laugh!

And there might be another engagement

Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk, who sparked up a relationship on Bachelor in Paradise season 4, are rumored to make an appearance on season 5.

During an interview on the talk showThe Morning Toast, hosts Claudia and Jackie Oshry asked Gates if she and her boyfriend, Adam Gottschalk, would get engaged during the cameo to which Gates replied, “I don’t know, maybe, maybe.”

That’s not confirmation but that’s not denial, either, and if you’ve been stalking them on social media like we’ve been stalking them on social media, the two are inseparable. A proposal is definitely in the future… so might as well be live on TV!

There’s already drama

E! News reported on a Twitter feud that broke out between Bekah Martinez (from Luyendyk’s season) and Raven Gates. Basically, Raven’s hometown friend Tia Booth (another former Bachelor contestant) used to date current Bachelorette contestant Colton Underwood before filming for the season began. When Kufrin confronted him about it, he said he was only interested in her, and Booth is reportedly cool with his competing for that final rose. Then, some spoilery photos of Underwood and Booth emerged from filming in Mexico, and Martinez posted a series of tweets about it.

The fight resulted in several deleted tweets, Gates blocking Martinez on Twitter and Martinez apologizing a few days after the debacle.

So, while there’s a lot of really good news, like Haibon and Iaconetti’s engagement, there’s also a lot of drama. Would we expect anything else from Bachelor Nation? After all, that’s what keeps fans watching — and rooting for their favorites to find love.
