Actor Lonnie Chavis, who currently plays young Randall on This Is Us, hopped onto Instagram earlier this week and took down internet trolls in such a mature, graceful way we kinda thought Jack Pearson was speaking to us.

On Monday, Chavis took the high road while responding to trolls who had apparently been leaving rude comments on his social media posts. In an Instagram video, he articulated that he hopes these trolls can look at their behavior before lashing out.
“I could get my gap fixed,” he tells his unnamed bullies. “Braces can fix this, but, like, can you fix your heart, though? There are kids out there killing themselves just because of y’all hating and trolling and doing just crazy stuff. I mean, it’s stupid. Is it fun? No. It hurts people. People kill themselves, and you’re the one who’s making them doing it. Fix your heart, though. For real. I’m happy that I can handle this. I can handle this. I’m not tripping. But there are kids out here. If y’all kids are watching this, don’t trip. Be who you want to be. Do what you want to do. Do you. Be you. Believe in yourself.”

To see this young man just pushing past these bullies and having a serious heart-to-heart with them on a real level… well, it’s giving us all the feels.
Turns out lots of folks felt the same way we do. When Chavis reposted his Instagram video to his Twitter account, he was met with lots of love and support for both his graceful response and the gap in his teeth those trolls sought to make fun of.

I work in dental @LonnieChavis and having a gap in between your front teeth is often considered beautiful. Some models even choose not to have it fixed for that reason. Keep smiling and don't let a few nay sayers bring you down. X

I wish I could “like” this video a million times❤️
I am so sorry you were bullied. Just know that you are more mature, kind, caring, and a bigger person than every single one of those trolls. Never stop being you!!— Sammi Ryan (@SammiRyan77) June 26, 2018
