Disgraced news anchor Matt Lauer will officially be a single man again soon, as his divorce from estranged wife Annette Roque draws to a close. But according to multiple sources, the split is going to cost Lauer dearly — and he’s livid about the proposed payout.
“He’s going to be forking out around $50 million in a settlement. She will receive the horse farm, their current residence and a one-time payment of $25 million,” an insider reportedly told Us Weekly.

Roque will not receive any additional child or spousal support. Rather, the former couple “will split the costs for the kids. Lauer and Roque are the parents of three children: Jack, 16, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11.
Apparently, Lauer is seeing red over the settlement.
“Matt is furious he is essentially handing over half of his net worth to Annette,” the source said. “He could fight for a better deal in court but that would only result in dragging this out longer and negative headlines. He is ready to move on with his life and truly believes that a television comeback is possible.”

Lauer lost his longtime job as Today cohost on NBC in November 2017 following allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace and confirmed reports of a sexual affair with a colleague.
By January, reports alleged divorce proceedings between Lauer and Roque had begun.
In April, a source reportedly told Entertainment Tonight that the fired anchor was starting to come to terms with the reality that his marriage was over.
“Matt feels terrible and regrets his behavior but his regret isn’t enough right now,” the source told ET. “It feels like all doors have closed for him.”

The source noted that Roque had simply had enough. “Annette is angry. She feels Matt’s behavior has affected a lot of people and has embarrassed the whole family,” they said, prophetically adding, “Annette plans to receive a very good settlement in this divorce. She wants to make sure she and the children will always be taken care of.”
