Reese Witherspoon is reportedly happy in her new relationship with billionaire Oliver Haarman, but there might be someone who feels differently about the situation. The 48-year-old actress’ ex-husband, Jim Toth, might be having a tough time transitioning to a fresh chapter in his life.
Don’t worry, he’s not looking to get back together with Witherspoon, but he is reportedly missing their business relationship together. “You have to credit Jim for the money he made while he and Reese were married and were business partners,” an In Touch Weekly source explained. “Jim really was a key player in Reese building out her company, Hello Sunshine, and helping her to sell it for nine figures.”
While their business venture thrived, their marriage did not after having their son, Tennessee, in 2012. “Their marriage became one of convenience over love, transactional so to speak,” added the insider. Toth had previously been an agent at the high-powered Hollywood talent agency CAA but transitioned to setting Witherspoon up for success with her media empire. Now, Toth’s “new chapter” to “reinvent himself” reportedly feels “humbling” because his ex-wife is now dating a billionaire.
It’s Haarman’s business acumen that is supposedly what attracted Witherspoon to her new beau in the first place — she’s in her CEO era. “They met through mutual friends in New York and hit it off,” a source said in August. “She loves to talk business and money and ways to invest, and he’s so knowledgeable,” they added. “The attraction grew from there. She’s loving the attention and is seeing where all this will go.”
A People insider even noted that Haarman’s lack of interest in Hollywood is a bonus. “She’s having fun with Oliver,” the source shared. “She often flies between Nashville and N.Y.C. to see him. He’s spending time with her kids too. Reese loves that he’s a businessman and not into Hollywood.” For Toth, that is what seems to be a sore point for him.
However, Witherspoon and her ex reportedly share an amicable co-parenting friendship and that’s what is most important here. And Toth should remember that his ex-wife’s “biggest priorities” are her “work and her son,” not her romantic life.
