Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim Valente are expecting their first child together, but friends are raving about their relationship ahead of the arrival of their bundle of joy. It appears that the 44-year-old supermodel is quite content with the 37-year-old jiu-jitsu instructor — everything in her personal life has reportedly fallen into place.
Not only is Bündchen “head over heels” in love with her boyfriend, according to an Us Weekly source, but her “friends haven’t seen her like this before.” The insider also confirmed, “Their chemistry together has always been there, and they have a lot in common. They’ve been in love for a while.”
Her ex-husband, Tom Brady, seems to be in his feelings about the big news, but TMZ is reporting that Bündchen kindly gave him a heads-up before the news broke. The former couple share a daughter Vivian, 11, and son Benjamin, 14. Bündchen is also a stepmother to Brady’s son Jack, 17, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
Valente was Bündchen’s support system while she was going through her very public divorce from the NFL star. They started as friends, but by 2023, their chemistry was undeniable. A second Us Weekly source noted that it was their “similar lifestyles dedicated to fitness and nutrition” that bonded them together. They added, “Gisele also loves being with someone who is from Brazil, they both have a shared history that she hasn’t had with anyone she’s dated.”
Brady’s supporters have questioned the timeline of Bündchen and Valente’s romance, but she swore to The New York Times in March that she never cheated on the retired athlete. “That is a lie,” she explained. “This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful. They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”
The fashion icon hinted to ELLEin 2022 that Brady’s desire to return to football instead of prioritizing their family was a reason for their marital difficulties. “I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams,” she told the media outlet. “I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose.”
That purpose is now expanding her family with Valente while still being able to focus on her career — and her boyfriend isn’t standing in the way of her dreams.
