After Ant Anstead and Christina Haack divorced in 2021, their relationship was anything but amicable. They shared a son, Hudson, 5, but a heated child custody battle overtook the headlines as they questioned each other’s parenting skills.
With those contentious days behind them, the TV personalities never healed their feud until now. It’s reportedly Anstead’s girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, who paved the path for their friendship reconciliation. “She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up. Things are better now. She’s extended the olive branch to Christina, too, and looking forward to a drama-free holiday season,” a source claimed.
What’s curious about the end of their battle is that it came right around the time Haack was splitting from her third husband, Josh Hall. A fan cutely suggested that Anstead replace Hall on the upcoming HGTV show, The Flip Off, with Haack’s first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. It’s a tangled web of relationships, but Haack gave Anstead an Instagram follow after that.
Now, fans have seen the duo learning to co-parent in a healthier way, even tagging each other in snapshots of their son and sharing them on social media. Zellweger reportedly saw how friendly Haack is with the El Moussas and she believed that they could have a similar friendship with her. They’ve come a long way from Anstead’s 2020 revelation to People about how the breakup affected him emotionally.
“It really hit me hard. The impact on me, my sleep, my diet, my stress, it showed,” he explained. “But I reached this turning point where I was either going to dwell in the darkness or I was just going to slap myself around the face a few times and say, ‘Wake up; you’re incredibly blessed. Focus on all the great things.’”
By 2022, their co-parenting relationship had completely fallen apart when Anstead filed for full custody of Hudson after “Christina tried to change the established schedule” while filming Christina in the Country in Tennessee, per an Us Weekly source. That led to a private dispute going very public. “She was trying to keep things private and make sure they were sticking to the agreement that they agreed upon,” the insider revealed. “She was being flexible with him, but things got worse.”
Now, two years later, the feud is over, and there is peace between Anstead and Haack — all thanks to an Oscar winner.
