Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple’s relationship has changed a lot since their engagement was revealed in the finale of The Golden Bachelorette.
Joan got engaged to Chock in an emotional finale episode on November 14 after sending her other finalist, Guy Gansert, home and later revealed in the episode that they are still going strong three months after their engagement was filmed.
In the months since, fans have gotten some glimpses into the couple’s life after The Golden Bachelorette and we have all the updates on how life looks now for Chock and Joan.
Are Joan & Chock Still Together?
Joan and Chock are still together after The Golden Bachelorette finale and regularly share posts together on social media, updating fans about their trips and dates.
“So grateful for all these beautiful new memories made with my fiancé,” Joan wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 21, sharing photos from a recent trip to New York with Chock.
She also gushed about Chock while appearing on the cover of P.O.W.E.R magazine’s winter issue, saying, “Chock, you changed my life. You gave me hope, and you gave me a future that I’m looking forward to.”
Joan & Chock Have Been Happily Together Since Filming the Finale in August
Though the rest of the world didn’t learn about Chock and Joan’s engagement until November, the pair were keeping their romance under wraps from August 2024 onwards.
“We got to spend a lot of time together just kind of falling more and more in love, getting to know each other, and now we finally get to share it with our friends and family and the rest of the world,” Joan told Good Morning America in November.
Joan & Chock Revealed Plans To Move to NYC
In another major update, Joan revealed to Us Weekly in November that they plan to relocate to New York City.
“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us Weekly.
“We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.'”
“We both have friends there. We’re gonna be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a really different life than either one of us have ever lived,” she added.
The couple shared an update on their New York apartment hunt to People in December. “It’s just like not really a move. It’s going to be a place for our little honeymoon,” Joan said with Chock adding, “It’s going to be a love shack.”
Chock said that the couple have not found an apartment yet but explained that they “really like SoHo” and are “going to take a little bit of time and try to find a great place in SoHo.”
Are Joan & Chock Engaged?
Joan and Chock are engaged, as fans saw in the finale episode. After saying, “goodbye” to Guy, Joan finally confessed her love to Chock before their lavish Bora Bora proposal.
“From our first date in Disneyland, I thought I saw a future with you and it’s the first time I pictured a future with anybody else in a really long time,” Joan told Chock. “And then tragedy hit your family and your mom passed away and you had to leave. I wanted you to go but I was really worried that you weren’t going to make it back and that’s when I realized that I couldn’t do this journey without you.”
“I waited til this moment in this amazing location to tell you that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” she continued, as Chock got down on one knee. “I want to wake up next to you in the morning and I want to kiss you when I go to bed at night.”
Chock told Joan that he loved her before popping the important question. “I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” Chock said. “Joan, will you marry me?” Joan replied, “Of course I’ll marry you,” before giving Chock her final rose.
Will There Be a ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Wedding?
No official plans for a Golden Bachelorette wedding have been revealed but the couple did confirm on Good Morning America that they will tie the knot eventually.
“I finally, like, look forward to the next chapter of my life. I lost that, you know, for quite a while,” Joan said. “I think just living a little bit of a normal life for a bit of time and then we’ll start making wedding plans.”
“She’s going to marry me … it’s just a matter of time,” Chock said with a grin, to which Vassos interjected, “I am.”
Joan did confirm in an October 23 episode The Viall Files podcast that if she does remarry, she is open to a televised wedding.
“I do think that Bachelor Nation, all the people that are invested in your journey and have watched you, do deserve to get a good finale,” Joan said. “So, if it is a wedding or if we move in together or if I find somebody at all, they deserve to get to know that. It’s not fair to stop the story right when it’s ending.”
