When Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán announced their divorce on Aug. 29 after 21 years of marriage, they swore they were “best friends” and would be “celebrating holidays together, watching our favorite tv shows together, and gathering as a family.” Some fans might not have believed them, but Remini and her ex-husband are proving their critics wrong.
On Monday, Nov. 11, Pagán revealed that he was still spending his free time with Remini. He posted a clip of himself getting excited over the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game. His ex-wife could be heard in the background laughing and joking with him.
“Who are you talking to exactly, Angelo?” Remini asked while her ex animatedly spoke to the TV screen.
“I’m talking to the television,” he quipped. “They can hear me.”
“You happy, Ang?” Remini asked.
“I’m so happy right now,” he responded.
“Good, because two seconds ago you said Dallas sucked,” she added.
“We do!” Pagán said while Remini’s hearty laugh can be heard in the background. “But come on baby, we can come back from three and five!”
There’s a lot of love between the two exes, that’s for sure! “Somethings never change,” he wrote in the caption. “Still spending most Sundays watching my Cowboys with @leahremini #exesbelike.”
Remini and Pagán were honest about why they were splitting after a total of 28 years together. “To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore. After a lot of effort and consideration, we’ve decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today,” they wrote in their August Instagram statement.
They wanted everyone to know that their “bond is still strong—it’s just evolved into something different” and that they were going to continue to prioritize their daughter, Sofia, 20. The former duo added, “From our perspective, this marriage was a huge success. And now, we’re looking forward to creating even more cherished moments—just in a different way.”
There is no doubt that Remini and Pagán’s BFF status will continue, just without the romance.
