Divorce can be rough even in the most amicable situations, and for HGTV star Christina Haack, her split from Josh Hall has been anything but peaceful, to put it mildly.
Since the two did not have a prenuptial agreement, Haack is facing disputes over key assets, including their Newport Beach home, Hacck’s Tennessee property, and the rights to the HGTV series, Christina in the Country.
Adding to the divorce drama, Hall has requested a whopping $65,000 per month in spousal support, a demand described as “outrageous” by Haack’s legal team, considering the couple was only married for three years and do not share any children together. (Haack shares Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8, with ex Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson London, 4, with ex Ant Anstead.)
While Haack hasn’t held back in revealing exactly how she feels about her ex, calling him “insecure,” the HGTV star does seem determined to focus on personal growth, even if some of her past decisions make “zero sense” in the wake of her ongoing divorce. On Saturday, Nov. 30, she shared a lengthy note on her Instagram Stories, proving that platitudes and clichés do tend to exist for a reason.
“Everything happens for a reason. Everything,” she wrote. “Your highs. Your lows. Your happiest moments and the most painful ones… There are some lessons that only people and their existence can give you. There are some lessons that only pain can bring out. There are some lessons that the biggest joys of your life will reveal to you.”
“For that, you need to look for a deeper meaning. For that, you need to pay attention to everything and everyone around you, especially those that love you and leave you,” she continued, encouraging followers to see growth as intentional rather than accidental.
Haack recently enlisted the help of renowned celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who has represented stars like Kim Kardashian and Kevin Costner in similarly high-profile cases.
This isn’t the first time Haack has faced divorce drama, either. Her contentious split from Ant Anstead in 2021 included a custody battle over their son, Hudson, now 5. Although the former couple appears to be co-parenting more peacefully today, reports suggest Anstead’s girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, remains “wary of the situation,” particularly in regards to their upcoming work-related interactions.
