Prince Harry Is Quite Aware of the Rumors About His Marriage to Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markleavoid social media, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t in tune with what is being said about them online. The Duke of Sussex proved that he is very up to date with the tea about his marriage — and he had something to say about those divorce rumors. 

Harry was at The New York Times‘ 2024 DealBook conference in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 4 when he broke his silence about the alleged royal gossip. “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times,” he said during his onstage interview. “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So, it’s just like, what?”

The British tabloids should take this as a sign that their marriage is solid even though the U.K. media insists the dynamic duo is on their way to divorce and Harry is coming back to the palace. “It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it,” Harry added. “Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So, I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”

The fuss over the state of their union seems to surround their decision to separate some, not all, of their business ventures. The Daily Beast noted that “Harry [is] concentrating on more ‘serious’ aspects of philanthropic life with his wife focusing on more celebrity-driven commercial opportunities.” It’s an approach that is already being criticized by PR professionals despite the fact the public hasn’t seen what Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard brand can achieve. 

“It’s working for Harry but not so much for Meghan. It’s going to be interesting to see how she handles being constantly upstaged by her husband,” claimed NewsNation entertainment reporter Paula Froelich to the media outlet. While everyone has their opinion on the Sussexes, Harry sounds rather unbothered by the entire situation. 

While Harry was in New York City, Meghan supported close pal Tyler Perry at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills. Page Six described her to be in “great spirits” as she walked down the red carpet and posed for snapshots with Perry. Harry and Meghan’s critics might hate that the couple is living their best lives right now. It hasn’t been easy, but the Sussexes found a path to happiness in the U.S.
