Why Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner Aren’t Exactly Friendly After Their Divorce

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turnerfinalized their divorce in September 2024 and figured out a child custody agreement that worked for them and their two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. Still, the former dynamic duo reportedly hasn’t eased into a natural friendship now that their contentious legal battle is over.

Their current relationship is described as “extremely awkward” by a source, who noted that “a lot of their social networks overlap, and they still have shared friends.” With so many mutuals in common, Jonas and Turner’s pals have to remain neutral. “The celebrity cool kids crowd is very small, so it’s not as though Joe can expect people to take his side and ice Sophie out,” they added.

There’s also another element to the situation and that’s the Game of Thrones star’s very serious romance with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson. The couple have been linked since October 2023 after they were spotted kissing at the Rugby World Cup final in Paris. She gave fans glimpses of their life together, but the 28-year-old actress waited until October 2024 to hard-launch the relationship with a celebration of Pearson’s 30th birthday.

An Us Weekly source shared insight into their blossoming romance, “Of course, the physical attraction is there, but Perry treats Sophie with nothing, but respect and he makes her laugh, which is also so important to her.” Turner “never expected to find someone she cares about this quickly,” but love won out in the end. Pearson is also the “very protective type” which has forced Jonas to end the “bad blood” battle quickly, per Life & Style.

“If Joe’s not smart about this he could wind up in a fight he’d probably lose, so he’s very wisely being a lot more cordial with Sophie and has stopped trash-talking her,” the Turner pal added. It still hasn’t stopped the “huge grudge” between them, but the media fight is finally over. Turner alluded to the “incredibly sad” situation in an October Harper’s Bazaar interview. “We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard,” she said while adding that living away from the U.K. was a part of the battle.

“I’m so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England,” Turner explained. “I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family. I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant.”

Now that her U.S. chapter is over, Turner has found love again with Pearson and hopefully, an evolving friendship with Jonas in the future.
