Donald Trump Jr. has firmly moved forward in his new relationship with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson after a four-year engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle, but not everyone is happy about that. There are reportedly people in President-elect Donald Trump’s inner circle who are raising some concerns about his eldest son’s blossoming romance.
Some critics are telling the Daily Mail that they are worried Anderson will become a “headache” for Donald Trump’s second administration. The issues surround her job as an influencer because some doubters believe she’s involved with Donald Jr. for the clout, especially since her views weren’t “MAGA to begin with.” Donald Trump’s team has done a deep dive on her social media accounts and noticed some of her former opposing views — a possible “liability” for the Trump family.
Those concerns don’t seem to bother Donald Jr., who is reportedly bringing her as his plus-one to his father’s inauguration on Jan. 20. Anderson’s previous political views also don’t seem to bug anyone else in the family because she’s been openly embraced at Trump events even when Donald Jr. was still engaged to Guilfoyle. The Daily Mail‘s sources first spotted the new couple together on Aug. 17, enjoying a very cozy brunch.
“They were definitely on a date. They weren’t exactly making out, but the kisses were romantic, and you could tell they were intimate with each other,” the insider claimed. Just a day later, Donald Jr. and Guilfoyle appeared together at a political event in Palm Beach County — so, there might have been some overlap in the relationships. Guilfoyle has been nominated as the ambassador of Greece and a People insider shared that it was Anderson who might have inspired the appointment.
“Bettina wants Kim out of the area,” they divulged. “They are trying to send Kim abroad. They waited for the election to pass but they didn’t want the split to get in the way of anything to hurt Donald in the election.” Despite the allegations that Guilfoyle was being shipped out of the country, Donald Jr. stepped up to defend his ex.
“Kimberly and I will never stop caring for each other and will always keep a special bond,” he told Page Six on Dec. 13. “I could not be more proud of her and the important role she’ll continue to play in my father’s administration. Anyone taking baseless and petty fake news cheap shots at her in the tabloids are just embarrassing themselves.” His words were kind to Guilfoyle, but the timing of the situation is hard to ignore.
For now, Anderson is keeping it cool on her Instagram page and hasn’t plastered her boyfriend all over her grid. Still, political insiders are keeping close tabs on her now that she’s on the Trump administration radar.
