Demi Moore’s Golden Globe Wisdom Continued Behind the Scenes & We Love What She Had To Say

Demi Moore‘s speech on the Golden Globes stage on Sunday night after winning Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for The Substance inspired women everywhere. She talked about being dismissed by Hollywood for years and was even told by a producer that she was merely “a popcorn actress.

Well, the 62-year-old actress had more to say behind the scenes in the press room after her win. SheKnows captured the moment where Moore shared her words of wisdom for women who don’t feel like they are “enough” — and her advice has us toasting the Golden Globes winner.

“I think it’s really about where you hold your intention and your focus, and we can spend our time focusing on all that we’re not, or we could be celebrating all that we are,” Moore advised. “And I think it’s just a subtle shift.” She’s not wrong — just a small change in that mindset is powerful and she proved it works with her new golden hardware.

Moore wanted everyone to know that there is a second act to their lives after they’ve perhaps prioritized their career, raising a family, or a combination of both. There comes a time when “self-love” is the greatest form of care women can do for themselves.

“I think we all know that there are certain kinds of societal conditioning, but what we really have to look at what we’re choosing to buy into,” she explained. “Because it exists, it doesn’t make it the truth. And I think it all goes back to how we choose to hold ourselves. And when we value ourselves, when we have enough self-love that will then reflect out in the world, and then the world will follow and change to accommodate how you are reflecting of yourself.”

Moore has us stomping our feet and nodding our heads in agreement because we are all “enough.” The award-winning actress told us on that Golden Globes stage that she “bought-in” to the idea that she was never going to be a revered star, but fate has a funny way of stepping in.

“I believed that, and that corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it,” she said in her acceptance speech. “Maybe I was complete, maybe I’ve done what I was supposed to do. And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out-of-the-box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance. The universe told me, ‘You are not done.'”

And we are all so thankful for Moore’s second act in life!
