The Trump family showed a united front on Monday, Jan. 20 at Donald Trump‘s inauguration, but there may be a divisive issue happening behind the scenes. It doesn’t have anything to do with the White House, though — it’s Donald Trump Jr.’s love life.
Numerous sources stepped forward to speak with Mediaite about how “deeply troubled” the Trump family is about Donald Jr.’s new relationship with Bettina Anderson. The 38-year-old Miami influencer has an “alleged reputation for hard partying and a pattern of dating wealthy men in the affluent Florida enclave.” The warning has reached the 47th president who is reportedly “concerned” about the dating situation.
“Donald Trump does not approve of his son’s association with Bettina,” a Trump insider claimed to the media outlet. “Bettina’s presence is seen as a liability rather than an asset.” There were even suggestions about barring her from the inauguration, but Donald Jr. had Anderson front and center at a pre-inauguration event at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, on Sunday. Adding to the awkwardness, his ex-fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle was also in attendance. (See the photos here.)
It also didn’t help that the Daily Mail is the media outlet that broke the news that Donald Jr. was reportedly stepping out on his relationship with Guilfoyle in September. A source revealed, “They were definitely on a date. They weren’t exactly making out, but the kisses were romantic, and you could tell they were intimate with each other.” That information might have been news to Guilfoyle, who was still making campaign trail appearances with Donald Jr. during that time period.
Despite the complicated romance timeline, Anderson didn’t seem to want Guilfoyle hanging around during Donald Trump’s second administration. “Bettina wants Kim out of the area,” a source toldPeople in December. “They are trying to send Kim abroad,” the insider continued. “They waited for the election to pass but they didn’t want the split to get in the way of anything to hurt Donald in the election.” Guilfoyle was nominated as Donald Trump’s ambassador to Greece.
Anderson probably won’t play a prominent role, but she’s reportedly trying to get on one of Donald Trump’s “community outreach boards or advisory committees,” per the New York Post. For now, though, she’s Donald Jr.’s plus one and her spokesperson is denying all claims to Mediaite that the Trump family is against their relationship. Still, their romance is making waves on the first day of Donald Trump’s administration — and the president may not like that.
