Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussa are embracing a healthy rivalry in HGTV’s The Flip Off but it wasn’t long ago that a real feud was raging between the pair, a feud that got a subtle nod in the premiere of their new show.
Back to May 2022, not long after Heather married Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, the women were photographed in the midst of a heated exchange on the sidelines of a kids soccer game that Christina and Tarek’s son was playing in.
Christina is facing off against Heather and Tarek in a different way in their house flipping competition show, The Flip Off. However, the trio did subtly return to the scene of their infamous showdown in the episode when they laid the ground-rules for the show on the sidelines of another on of Brayden El Moussa’s soccer games.
But if the 2022 spat seems like something from a distant past, we’ve got all the details on what went down.
Christina Haack & Heather Rae El Moussa’s Feud: What Happened?
On May 8, 2022, Heather and Christina were photographed arguing at a soccer game before Tarek intervened to separate his wife and his ex. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail, showed Heather leaning down to where Christina was sitting before Tarek pulled her away by the arm.
Later, photos showed Tarek engaged in an exchange with Christina’s then-husband, Josh Hall, before Tarek’s son’s soccer coach put an end to the discussion.
That morning, Christina posted a photo of her and Tarek’s son in a hospital bed after undergoing an emergency appendectomy and a removal of Meckel’s diverticulum. “Scary 12 hours for us parents + step parents,” she wrote before explaining the health scare. She concluded the post: “Blessed to have 3 healthy + happy kids, caring family and friends and a husband who stands by my side.”
Two days after the incident on the soccer field, Christina appeared to be back on good terms with Heather and her ex-husband, tagging them in an Instagram Story with a health update about their son.
“Stressful 24 hours but a good reminder how important team work/co-parenting is,” Christina wrote. “We are all under pressure but when it really matters we were all there for Brayden doing our part,” she continued. “Sometimes a scary situation can be a good wake up call. In the end all the other stuff is just ‘noise,’ what matters is the kids.”
In a joint statement to People, Christina, Josh, Heather and Tarek also shut down any speculation. “A personal matter was discussed and has since been resolved,” the joint statement read. “We are focused on co-parenting as a team moving forward.”
In May 2024, Heather confirmed that she and Christina get along great now, saying that they are “in a good place” and “having fun together.”
Heather has also supported Christina through her split from Josh, who she separated from in July 2024 after two years of marriage. “[The dynamic is] better,” Heather told Us Weekly on Jan. 10 of working with Christina without Josh. “Not to be mean, but he definitely didn’t have the best personality. So, it’s like a breath of fresh air — and [Christina is] in a really good place.”
