Olivia Wilde Is Reportedly Making Sure Her New Romance Is Different Than Her Harry Styles Relationship

Olivia Wilde is stepping out in public with a new romance after being spotted with actor and former basketball star Dane DiLiegro at the Los Angeles Lakers game on Jan. 23. The 40-year-old actress put her love life on the back burner after a contentious split from Jason Sudeikis and her high-profile relationship with Harry Styles — but now, it’s time for love!

A source told the Daily Mail that Wilde prioritized herself after she split from the former One Direction singer in November 2022. She’s “finally moved on from her breakup with Harry Styles and is dating Dane DiLiegro.” Still, the Don’t Worry Darling director is making sure to do things differently this time. 

“After the Harry breakup, she really took time off dating and away from the spotlight to focus on herself and her family,” the insider continued. “She got way too caught up in that and their relationship became a public spectacle.” Wilde learned her lesson with Styles, and she’s reportedly committed to not “making this mistake ever again.” That means keeping “her private life and her love life private because she knows that this is the only way something will last.”

To refresh your memory, Wilde and Styles’ relationship began on the set of Don’t Worry Darling in 2020. She may or may not have been broken up with Sudeikis after nine years together and two children, Otis, 10, and Daisy, 8. The former duo never agreed on their breakup timeline, so Wilde’s involvement with Style might have been an on-set affair. The co-stars were first spotted together looking rather cozy at the wedding of his agent, Jeff Azoff, in January 2021. 

Despite an Entertainment Tonight insider’s insistence that “there was absolutely no drama or scandal” between Wilde and Sudeikis, he served her with child custody papers while she was giving a speech at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April 2022. It wasn’t Sudeikis’ finest hour, but Wilde handled the awkward moment professionally. So, it’s understandable why Wilde wants to keep her romance with DiLiegro on the low-key side — she doesn’t need the drama or the paparazzi invasion like last time.
