When it comes to Taylor Swift‘s romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, eyes have been on them every step of the way. Sure, the duo remained private for a few months before hard-launching their relationship, but the spotlight has been on them ever since. And, among the photos of them packing on PDA and her cheering for the Chiefs in the VIP Box, attention around them has speculated about family feuds too.
More specifically, fans have long talked about potential tensions between Swift and Travis’ sister-in-law Kylie Kelce. According to many, the fact that Kylie, who has been married to retired NFL star Jason Kelce since 2018, was only introduced to Swift during a Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills months into their relationship in January 2024 was a red flag.
“People are deeply disturbed by this,” Kylie said of their first meeting in an episode of Call Her Daddy, per Page Six. “There was, like, all this stuff leading up to it [the meeting] about, ‘Well, why haven’t they met, they’re avoiding each other.’ I’m not avoiding anyone.”
In fact, Kylie reiterated that she wanted to meet Swift because she was excited to meet “someone that Travis is dating.”
“But it was funny to me because I kept saying to people that I didn’t meet Travis for probably close to a year when Jason and I were dating,” she remembered, adding that Swift, who was on tour for the Eras Tour at the time, was understandably “busy.”
“It is just so silly to me that that was the story that was written,” she added. No feud over here, folks!
Also in the chat, Kylie, who watched the Super Bowl alongside Jason in Swift’s VIP Box this past weekend, revealed how she learned about Travis and Swift’s relationship in the first place.
“Jase and I found out together, but we knew before they hard launched with her going to a game,” she said. As a reminder, Swift confirmed their romance when she attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears in September 2023.
“I will say, we knew before everyone else knew but it was not, like … it did not hit the group chat,” she said.
Whether they were told ahead of time, it seems Kylie and Jason have been nothing but supportive of their relationship. She’s officially cleared the air!
