Pete Davidson Gave Ex Ariana Grande the Sweetest Shoutout in His Latest Interview

While Pete Davidson notoriously had quite a few public relationships, it’s safe to say one of his most memorable moments was dating and getting engaged to Ariana Grande in 2018. After all, not only did the two unapologetically show off their love on red carpets and social media, they’re quick engagement-to-breakup timeline left fans confused and wondering what happened.

But now, a few years since their relationship, Davidson is opening up about his womanizer ways, and even giving Grande a sweet shoutout.

In a new interview, Davidson, who’s set to star in the upcoming movies The Home, Riff Raff, and Dog Man, revealed there’s no bad blood between him and Grande. “When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” he told Page Six.

In fact, he even wished Grande, who’s getting major praise this year for her role as Glinda in Wicked, good luck for the Academy Awards next month. “I hope she wins the Oscar,” he said. “I hope she takes the gold.” How adorable is that?

But while Davidson didn’t shy away from talking about his famous ex, he did get candid about how the attention to his relationships has been taxing for him over the years.

“It was pretty humiliating and upsetting, honestly,” he said. “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood. Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keough. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me.”

“I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell,” he added.

To him, the media attention took the spotlight away from his actual work as an actor and comedian. “It’s embarrassing because you want people to write about your work,” he said. “I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating.”

In addition to Grande, Davidson has dated major stars like Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale, Phoebe Dynevor and Margaret Qualley. His last relationship was with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline. The two dated for a few months and called it quits by the summer of 2024.

“I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended it’s been cool,” he said.

From the looks of it, there’s no real drama between Davidson and his exes, so we might as well pivot to talking about his career instead, right? This Sunday, he’ll be one of the many guests in SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration. We’ll cheer for him there!
