King Charles III was hoping that the next four years with President Donald Trump would allow his son, Prince William, to step into his global diplomacy role, but there might be troubled waters ahead. Prince Harry’s possible visa issues are not what are troubling the monarch though, it’s the president’s FBI appointee Kash Patel who might be stirring up some trouble with Prince Andrew

The FBI director nominee is reportedly eager to get to the heart of the matter when it comes to the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. It’s no secret that the Duke of York’s association with the financier was the catalyst for his royal downfall. Now, per The Sun, the Duke of York is reportedly “terrified” of what lies ahead for him, especially if he travels to the U.S. And it isn’t just Patel who is calling for a greater investigation.

Spencer Kuvin, a lawyer representing some of Epstein’s survivors, told the media outlet, “The British monarchy should be embarrassed. He should be fully separated from the monarchy and the public should never be subsidizing someone who has either such bad judgment to be friends with this man or could have been involved with him. The President should require his new FBI director to fully investigate Andrew’s conduct.”

Kuvin believes it’s time for Prince Andrew to be “held accountable by the monarchy” and that Charles should turn over his younger brother to authorities. Andrew has denied all sexual assault allegations from the Virginia Giuffre civil suit, but he did pay out $16 million, per Time magazine, in 2022 to make the case go away.

“Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others,” the royal’s court statement read. “He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.” Still, he was not earning enough income at the time and his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, paid out the remaining sum after he sold his Swiss chalet to help with his debt and legal bills, per the Daily Mirror.

The ongoing issue is a serious one for King Charles because many royal critics believe that he was “too soft” on Andrew. And when Prince William takes the throne, things might become more difficult for the Duke of York. “Differences between monarch and heir do remain, especially when it comes to the Prince Andrew scandal,” Richard Kay, author of Diana: The Untold Story, told The Royal Observer in August 2024. “William has long held a grudge against Andrew for being unwelcoming when he first introduced the then Kate Middleton to the royal family.”

King Charles is going to have to navigate this upcoming royal pitfall because it seems that the Epstein drama isn’t ever going away.
